FOOD SAFETY

Over the past decade, the consumption of fresh fruits and vegetables has increased steadily in the United States. While producers have enjoyed the "fruits" of their success, they also have experienced the need to take extra measures to insure the safety of fresh harvested fruits and vegetables. This has spurred harvesting companies like ours to develop and implement practices to insure food safety. By implementing an effective Good Agricultural Practices Program (GAP) for our agricultural clients that focuses on prevention, we are able to harvest products in parallel with our client’s food safety practices.

7 KEY ELEMENTS OF THE PROGRAM ARE:
1
Prevention of problems before they occur
2
Risk
assessments
3
Commitment to
food safety at
all levels
4
Communication
throughout the
production chain
5
Mandatory employee education program at the operational level
6
Field and
equipment
sanitation
7
Oversight and
enforcement
